Today: Find Peace Wherever You Are

In every part of the country, you can find beautiful scenes to relax your spirit.  Driving my daughter to school one morning, we pulled over and took this quick snapshot of our neighbor’s horses.

Today, take time to find peace in nature somewhere during your busy day.  You’ll find it will help your physical, spiritual and mental well-being  Some of the benefits:  less stress, deeper sleep, a higher ability to concentrate, less pain, clearer thinking, better breathing, a sense of balance, and an awareness of others and the world around you.  You’ll find you will be a better leader of others and better able to manage yourself.

Do you have a place near you where you can relax and find some peace?

There’s a wildlife preserve and arboretum about 5 miles away from my home. Alot of times when i’m extremely stressed, i drop everything, throw on some running shoes and take a 3-4 mile run through their trails. You’re almost guaranteed to see deer, turkey, snakes, you name it.. Interacting with nature tends to soothe the soul! Cheers – Ryan

I guess it’s usually soothing, depending on how close you are to the snakes! All the best to you.

Good point Skip haha. Maybe a few less snakes and a few more deer for the ideal environment. Wishing a Merry Christmas to you and yours – Ryan

There is a Lake in Dallas I go to which has a nice walk/jog/bike trail. It’s almost 12 miles long but I walked some of it today to reflect on 2012 experiences and thinking about 2013….

There’s a great park not far from my house where you can’t hear any cars and barely run into anyone. I remember going there about a year ago, after we had a snowfall. It was one of the most serene and peaceful things I’ve ever experienced. The only footprints were my own.

That sounds perfect. I can see the visual of your footsteps in my mind.

Great picture, my daughters would love that!  I’ll have to try this.  Keep up the great work Skip!

Thanks, John. Very easy for us to find peaceful locations in Tennessee. When I travel to a city, I still look for them and they are always there. Whether I choose to stop for a minute is my choice, and I find that doing it helps relax the soul. Have a good weekend.
